Environmentally Friendly Production

Living and working in a nation full of natural beauty, we are acutely aware of our impact on the environment both within our manufacturing business and as individual citizens. We are always looking to decrease our environmental footprint in the interest of both our natural surroundings and the health of our community. We are committed to employing environmentally friendly production techniques in all aspects of our work.

We have implemented many informal projects throughout the years to better the situation of the local environment and to increase understanding of the power people have to impact the Earth. We continue to think up and implement creative environmental projects, considering our workers needs and creating realistic change.

Some of our near current projects are:

Giving fruit trees to each knitter on Earth Day to plant in her own garden. This not only creates appreciation for the natural environment, but also provides the family with fresh, organic fruit.

We have a piece of property on the outskirts of Cochabamba, which we plan to dedicate to our workers. The property will be used as an organic vegetable and fruit garden and greenhouse.

Many of our knitters live in town and soBolivian Landscape don’t have the opportunity to have their own family gardens. With the price of produce rising fairly quickly, we have created this shared garden to combat price changes, create community and provide organic vegetables to our workers.

Each artisan that has interest in having his/her own garden is free to use the land to cultivate potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and any other organically grown vegetables. We will even provide a caretaker for the property so that families do not have to spend an inordinate amount of time tending to their vegetable plots.
