We fully support the cooperative or group work arrangement amongst our knitters and other artisan groups. We believe this type of group work environment fosters a sense of community and specifically gives women a supportive infrastructure. This type of work environment is also one of the structures the WFTO supports for fair trade manufacturers.
As we strive to create the most socially conscious business model we can, we have tried a variety of different methods of supporting and keeping workers happy. Some of these have been serious, some informational and some just plain fun!
We believe community development is an ongoing process that includes constant dialogue with workers to figure out ways we can be helpful to them and the community. We are engaged in community development.
